Agent AI

Agent AI is the chatbot tool to be used internally within the Harvard Kennedy School IT department and hopefully by the wider HKS community in the future. The purpose of the AI tool is to offer assistance to staff within the department with troubleshooting, as the AI is knowledgeable of the HKS documentation, it can provide swift and accurate assistance to IT staff in the office or on the field. For this project, I took on the role of the lead UI/UX + Web Designer and front-end developer for this application.

The Issue

The project began by reviewing the previous iteration of AgentAI. The product owner aimed to enhance the design and user experience of the application. The original design lacked cohesiveness, overall lacking a strong brand identity that could be associated with the Harvard Kennedy School.

Brand Identity

A simple but identifable brand guideline was set to help with the creation of wireframes.

Final Product & Conclusion

The AgentAI project was an incredible learning experience from both design and technical perspectives. Collaborating with the product owner grew my understanding of customer needs, emphasizing the importance of considering user interactions with the product. We successfully developed a simple yet coherent brand kit for the project, which will be utilized by future co-op cohorts. I thoroughly enjoyed working on the wireframes and continuously incorporating feedback from the product owner and other developers. This project also introduced me to Flask applications and Jinja templating. Despite an initial learning curve, I was able to confidently hand off the project for further completion to the next co-op cohort.
